Announcing Deb Pelletier, new Patient Care Director for Cardiac Services at NSMC Salem Hospital!
Debra will be responsible for patient care services in the Cardiac Catheterization - Electrophysiology Lab, Pacemaker/ICD Clinic and the Cardiac Surgery Program. Debra received her BSN from Boston State College and is currently enrolled in the Master's in Nursing Administration Program at Northeastern University. She has made many clinical and professional contributions in collaboration with her physician colleagues and the cardiac cath lab staff to implement the NSMC PCI program and to achieve outstanding outcomes in door-to-balloon time for our cardiac patients. Over the past four years, Debra has served as Nurse Manager for the Cardiac Catheterization — Electrophysiology Lab and Pacemaker/ICD Clinic at Salem. Prior to her Nurse Manager role, Debra was the Heart Failure Nurse Coordinator at Salem. Previously, she was an Associate Staff Nurse in the New England Medical Center Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit for nine years.

Orientation
Our innovative nursing departments offer an extensive orientation program tailored to individual experiences and needs. During your orientation, clinical educators and preceptors will help you become comfortable with all equipment, train you on computer programs, assess your knowledge base and provide appropriate training materials.
RN Intern Program
We are dedicated to supporting the new graduate RN in his/her professional growth during the first year of practice. We have an RN Intern program that is designed to provide a learning environment that will support new graduates in developing professional skills.
CLIMB Program
The Career Ladder Integrated Mobility Blocks (CLIMB) program is for new and experienced nurses who would like to make a change in their practice area. Nursing management will help the RN gain skills and experience to prepare for future goals.
Educational Opportunities
NSMC encourages personal and professional growth for all staff. Free CEU programs on site, annual Nursing Forum and tuition reimbursement are all options.
Nursing Extern Program
NSMC, in conjunction with Salem State College, offers a three-credit, paid clinical work study program. This program is open to full-time baccalaureate nursing students in good academic standing who are enrolled in an accredited four-year generic program.
